Yi Wan Gyo

Yi, Wan Gyo conveys the idea of Tao and empiness which Eastern philosophy pursues. Looking and listening through a mind, and again through chi is a true meaning to earn Tao of the universe. Resembling traditional ink-and-wash painting, his works bring the experience to another level than just admiring the art, but it lets the viewers to appreciate the work through minds with peace.

The world he observes from his photograph is the state of Nirvana. The world of Nirvana is to put down three poisons, greed, anger, and stupidity and to reach the world the artis pursues. There is a true aura in the world of transcendence. It is the world, which transends 'something definite' to 'being'.

In the culture of Orient, black and white is the origin of every color. Black on Yi's photograph symbolizes the spirit of a profound universe with its alteration and people also can gain the pleasure of peace and serenity from the vision of the East.
